As the echoing waves of plague continued to sweep over us, unexpectedly unrelenting, we were thrust further inward; it became apparent that a sequel to the 2020 remote collaboration between L.A. synthesizerist/producer Wingo Shackleford and guitarist/producer shinkawasaki was inevitable, and thus Isolation Tapes ii was born. Drawing on traditions of mid-century drone and minimalism, as well as the ambient styles of the ‘80s/90/’00s, this second compendium contains musical meditations utilizing analog synthesizers and a nylon string guitar with a handful effect pedals to conjure forth vast, nature-evoking emotional soundscapes.

Largely improvised, this 8-track ambient compilation is an expression of Wingo's deep interplay with analog circuits delicately infused with shinkawasaki's self-imposed methods of restraint and practice in trance-like minimalist acoustic performance. It demonstrates the elegance of meditative simplicity and draws the observer into a calm state of deep listening and pastoral contemplation.
